Douglas Furniture is a well-known and established Canterbury joinery company. Our business is locally owned and operated, has a long history and heritage in the industry, with a strength in commercial furniture & interiors.
We are currently looking for a Qualified Joiner with a minimum of 5+ years' experience to join our team.
The successful candidate would ideally have the ability to:
Undertake a wide variety of furniture making and joinery tasks
Read and follow drawings & plans
Able to construct joinery from scratch using traditional machinery
Work on multiple jobs/production runs throughout the working day, so flexibility is essential
Work unsupervised
What you will be doing:
Working on wide range of commercial & domestic joinery projects
On site work - installations and furniture set up (installation experience is desirable but not essential)
Assembling commercial furniture
Other duties as they arise

A full-time permanent role, 40 - 50 hours per week with periodic overtime.

You will need a full, clean drivers' licence (able to drive a manual transmission desirable but no essential) and be a NZ resident, or, have the relevant work permits that allow you to work in NZ.
