Are you practical, mechanically minded and enjoy getting out and about rather than being stuck in a workshop all day?
Wanaka Hose & Hydraulics is looking for a Hydraulic Hose Technician to join our friendly team and provide mobile Hydraulink hydraulic hose and fittings services to customers throughout the Wanaka region.
Whether you're already experienced in hydraulics or have a hands-on background and are keen to learn something new, we'd love to hear from you!
This is a varied, field-based role where you'll operate a fully equipped service truck, travelling to customer sites to diagnose problems, carry out repairs and get equipment back up and running.
You'll enjoy the freedom of working independently, meeting different people and tackling new challenges, with the backing of a supportive team and plenty of training along the way.
What you'll be doing:- Attending customer breakdowns and scheduled service jobs
- Diagnosing hydraulic hose issues and providing practical solutions
- Making, repairing and replacing hydraulic hoses on-site
- Keeping your mobile service truck stocked, organised and ready to go
- Completing job records and maintaining safe working practices
- Building positive relationships through great customer service
What we're looking for
We're more interested in finding the right person with a great attitude than someone who ticks every box.
Ideally, you'll bring:- A practical, hands-on approach and good problem-solving skills
- Mechanical or hydraulic hose experience would be an advantage, but isn't essential
- Confidence working independently and dealing with customers
- A willingness to learn and take pride in doing a job well
- The ability to carry out physical work in outdoor environments
- A full NZ Class 1 driver's licence (Class 2 would be a bonus)
You'll also need to have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
