  • One busy Christchurch workshop.
  • Real variety, real projects, no two days the same.
  • Join the skilled team at Metalcraft Engineering in Harewood.

  • Metalcraft Engineering has been operating in Christchurch for more than 30 years, delivering high-quality fabricated products and engineered solutions throughout New Zealand.

We work across architectural, transport, engineering and bespoke fabrication, from one-off specialist projects through to production runs. Aluminium, stainless, mild steel - if it needs to be fabricated properly, we're interested.

We're looking for an experienced Alloy Fabricator to join our team.

This is a hands-on role where you'll take projects from engineering drawings through to a quality finished product.

You'll be working alongside an experienced team on a wide variety of projects, so there's plenty of opportunity to use your skills and keep developing them.

    You'll need:
    • Solid experience as an Aluminium/Alloy Fabricator
    • Strong TIG and MIG welding skills on aluminium
    • Ability to produce clean, accurate and consistent welds
    • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and cutting lists
    • Good fabrication and fitting skills
    • A high level of attention to detail
    • Pride in your workmanship and the quality of the finished product
    • A reliable, positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
It would be an advantage if you also have:
    • Mild steel and stainless-steel fabrication experience
    • Experience with one-off or bespoke fabrication
    • Experience working from detailed engineering drawings
    • CNC, guillotine, press brake or other workshop machinery experience
    What we offer

We're a professional workshop with a high standard of workmanship and a team that takes pride in what we produce.

    You'll get:
    • Competitive wages for the right person
    • Regular wage and performance reviews
    • A good team environment
    • Interesting and varied work - not repetitive production-line fabrication
    • Quality tools and workshop equipment
    • Full PPE provided
    • Training and support
    • A strong focus on quality and continuous improvement
    • The opportunity to work on projects across a range of industries
    • A supervisor who works alongside the team and understands fabrication
If you're an experienced Alloy Fabricator looking for a new challenge, want to work with a skilled team, and take pride in producing quality work, get in touch with Metalcraft Engineering.
