    • Kiwi Skips has an exciting opportunity to join our fast-growing, fun and busy team in Invercargill. Being a competent truck driver is just one part of the job. This role requires fast, physical work outside of the truck. You'll be regularly needing to cover/secure skips, repetitively load and unload wheelie bins onto a rear loading compactor, as well as muck in with our general yard work and maintenance. In rain, hail, or shine we will be outdoors so this mustn't scare you!

    We service thousands of residential and commercial properties throughout Southland, and our drivers are the face of Kiwi Skips when on-site. Interacting with customers and answering questions is all part of the fun, so the successful applicant must be well-presented and have excellent communication skills, with initiative too. We are also at times working to beat the clock, so you'll need to work well under pressure and have excellent time management skills. We operate seven days, and expected hours of work would be Monday through Friday with rostered weekend work required (approximately one Saturday, one Sunday per month).

    Essentials:
    • Valid Class 2 Driver's License. Class 4 advantageous.
    • Physically fit and willing to work hard
    • Strong customer service focus
    • Reliable team player and a self-starter
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile
    • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and efficient manner
    • Comply with all safety policies and procedures
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks
    • Ability to learn and use company technology and systems - namely an iPad
    • Own reliable transport to and from work
    • Applicants must be able to pass a drug test if required and have no criminal convictions.
    • NZ citizenship, permanent residency or a valid work permit.
    Advantageous:
    • Previous waste or recycling experience
    • Previous rear-loader/front-loader/gantry/hi-ab/forklift experience
    • Good knowledge of Invercargill/Southland
