  • Qualified mechanic wanted - WOF authority preferred
  • Quality workmanship, great customer service and no shortcuts
  • Join a team that values honesty and reliability

  • McClintock Mechanical is looking for a skilled and reliable Qualified Automotive Mechanic to join our workshop team in Riversdale.

You'll play an important role in delivering quality servicing, repairs, diagnostics and Warrant of Fitness inspections (if certified), while helping keep our workshop running efficiently.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, gets the job done properly the first time, and understands that great mechanical work is about more than just fixing cars - it's about building trust with customers.

    Your day-to-day work will include:
    • Carrying out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs across a range of light vehicles.
    • Diagnosing faults using modern scan tools, diagnostic equipment and practical experience.
    • Completing repairs accurately and efficiently, with a strong focus on quality.
    • Carrying out Warrant of Fitness inspections if you hold current WOF inspecting authority.
    • Identifying additional safety or maintenance issues and communicating these clearly before undertaking additional work.
    • Completing road tests and final quality checks where required.
    • Accurately recording labour, parts and consumables against each job.
    • Keeping job cards and workshop records up to date.
    • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop.
    • Providing professional, honest and straightforward service to customers.
    What we're looking for

    You'll ideally have:
    • A recognised automotive trade qualification.
    • Proven experience servicing, diagnosing and repairing light vehicles.
    • Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
    • Experience using modern diagnostic and scan equipment.
    • A strong understanding of vehicle safety and workshop procedures.
    • The ability to work independently without constant supervision.
    • Good organisation, time management and attention to detail.
    • A full NZ Driver Licence.
    • A professional, honest and reliable approach.
A current New Zealand Warrant of Fitness inspecting authority would be highly desirable (but is not essential).

This is a full time role working Monday to Friday (with additional hours by agreement).

If you're a capable automotive mechanic who takes genuine pride in quality workmanship and wants to be part of a professional, customer-focused workshop, we'd like to hear from you.
