    The Opportunity

    We are seeking a productive, self-motivated and highly skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to keep our fleet moving.

    This role is based at our well-equipped Taihape workshop but offers exciting variety with travel across our scenic regional work sites in a dedicated company service ute. You will manage general maintenance, servicing, and light fabrication, supported by a capable parts administrator and a highly supportive Operations Manager.

    What You Will Do:
    • Maintain & Service: Routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and light fabrication across a massive variety of heavy plant (crushers, loaders, excavators), transport fleet, light vehicles, and small motorised machinery (pumps, small construction equipment).
    • Diagnose & Advise: Troubleshoot mechanical issues, diagnose complex faults, and provide expert technical advice on fleet health.
    • Coordinate: Manage the outsourcing of major repairs and specialty servicing while ensuring internal jobs are completed efficiently.
    • Teamwork: Work collaboratively across all operations and site teams to minimise downtime and keep projects running smoothly.
    What You Bring:
    • Skills & Experience: Proven experience as a heavy diesel mechanic or trade-qualified qualifications.
    • Drive & Reliability: Self-motivated, high work ethic, reliable, fit and able.
    • Organised.
    • Team Spirit: A productive team player who communicates well and enjoys working with great people.
    • Passion: A genuine love for big machinery and a pride in using the best tools of the trade to deliver high-quality work.
    • Ideally but not limited to: The successful applicant will have Wheels, Tracks, Rollers, Forklift, Class 1, 2 and 4.
