    About the role

    As an Intermediate Accountant, you'll work with a diverse portfolio of commercial (SME) and not-for-profit clients, providing high-quality accounting and advisory services. You'll work closely with clients, contribute to our team culture, and play an important role in delivering practical financial solutions.

    Your responsibilities will include:
    • Preparing payroll, GST returns, and monthly accounts payable.
    • Preparing management reports.
    • Preparing financial statements for commercial (SME) and not-for-profit clients.
    • Preparing income tax returns.
    • Building strong relationships with clients and providing tailored accounting support.
    • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
    • Keeping up to date with changes in New Zealand accounting standards and tax legislation.
    • Contributing to the ongoing improvement of our systems and internal processes.
    About you

    We're looking for someone who enjoys working with clients, takes pride in producing quality work, and wants to continue developing their career in public practice.

    You'll ideally have:
    • At least 3 years' experience in a New Zealand public accounting practice.
    • An accounting qualification, or be working towards one.
    • Strong technical knowledge of New Zealand accounting standards and tax legislation.
    • Experience using Xero, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Strong analytical, organisational, and time management abilities.
    • High ethical standards with the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
    • A collaborative attitude and a willingness to support and mentor junior team members.
