Colman Engineering Ltd is a modern precision engineering company based in Silverdale, Auckland, and we're looking for a motivated and reliable machinist to join our close-knit team.
This role is primarily focused on operating, setting and programming our CNC machining centre. We also welcome applications from experienced CNC lathe operators or manual machinists who are keen to expand their skills and build a career in CNC milling. If you have the right attitude and a willingness to learn, we'll provide the training and support you need to succeed.
About the Role
As part of our experienced team, you'll be involved in producing high-quality precision components for a diverse range of industries and customers. You'll enjoy a varied workload, modern equipment, and the opportunity to continue developing your machining skills.
We're seeking someone who:- Has a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and takes pride in producing quality work.
- Is reliable, punctual, and able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
- Is trade qualified (preferred), although applicants with the right attitude, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn will be considered.
- Has experience operating CNC machinery. Experience with Fanuc controllers, including Manual Guide i/Easy Guide conversational programming, is highly regarded.
- CAD/CAM programming experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Can confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Has experience using precision measuring equipment such as vernier calipers and micrometers.
- Is available to work 40-45 hours per week, with occasional overtime when required.
- Holds New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa.
