Forever Green Ltd has been creating quality residential and commercial landscapes throughout Canterbury since 1987. As an established family-owned business, we specialise in earthworks, site preparation, hard landscaping, soft landscaping, irrigation, and landscape construction.
We are seeking an experienced Landscape Gardener to join our Christchurch team. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
As a Landscape Gardener, your duties will include:- Preparing sites for landscaping works.
- Planting trees, shrubs, groundcovers, lawns and other vegetation.
- Identifying, selecting and maintaining suitable plants.
- Soil preparation, mulching and fertilising.
- Installing irrigation systems and drainage where required.
- Carrying out hard landscaping including paving, retaining walls, timber structures, edging and concreting.
- Operating a range of landscaping machinery and equipment safely.
- Reading and following landscape plans and specifications.
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and presentation.
- Working safely and complying with all company health and safety procedures.
- Working both independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:- A University degree in Agriculture (Agricultural Engineering), a degree in Horticulture or proven experience in soft landscaping with strong plant identification and horticultural knowledge.
- Experience undertaking hard landscaping including paving, carpentry and concrete work.
- Current Site Safe Passport.
- Current Growsafe Standard Certificate.
- Full New Zealand (or equivalent) manual driver's licence.
- WTR (Wheels, Tracks and Rollers) endorsement.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
- A good level of physical fitness and ability to undertake manual outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
Preferred
The following would be an advantage but are not essential:- Class 2 driver's licence.
- Leadership or supervisory experience.
What We Offer:- Permanent full-time employment.

- Hourly rate of $29.00-$31.00, depending on skills and experience.
