  • About the role

    Ferrier Industrial Limited is looking for a skilled Welder / Fabricator to join our workshop team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will carry out welding, fabrication and repair work on NZ Post roll cages and other transport equipment, ensuring equipment is safely restored, compliant, and fit for operational use.

    Key tasks and responsibilities:
    • Perform welding and fabrication repairs on roll cages (MIG welding essential)
    • Assess damage and complete required maintenance and repairs
    • Read and follow repair instructions, technical drawings and specifications, including AutoCAD drawings
    • Work with AutoCAD (SolidWorks, Autodesk) - create and edit drawing files
    • Maintain accurate repair and job records
    • Follow all workplace health and safety requirements and procedures
    • Report to the Warehouse Manager / Workshop Team Leader
    Minimum skills, experience and qualifications:
    • MIG welding skills - essential
    • Fabrication or general engineering experience - preferred
    • Experience reading and working from technical drawings, including AutoCAD - preferred
    • Strong work ethic, reliability and attention to detail
    • Physically fit and able to work safely
    • Able to work independently and as part of a small team
    Job Details:
    • Employment type: Full-time, permanent
    • Hours: 40 hours per week guaranteed (Monday to Friday)
    • Pay: $32.00 - $38.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience
