About the role
Ross Reid Contractors Ltd is looking for an experienced Concrete Placer to join our busy civil construction team working across Queenstown, Wānaka and the wider Central Otago region.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is confident in all aspects of concrete placement and finishing. You will need to take pride in producing high-quality work while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety.
We are looking for a reliable and versatile person who can work effectively both unsupervised and as part of a team.
Key responsibilities
Your duties will include:- Concrete pouring and placement
- Screeding and levelling
- Operating a concrete helicopter/power trowel
- Concrete finishing, edging and detailing
- Preparing work areas before concrete placement
- Identifying and managing hazards within the work area
- Assisting with maintenance, site clean-up and general duties as directed by the Site Supervisor or Manager
- Supporting other civil construction activities when required
Skills and experience required
Applicants must have:- A minimum of three years' concrete placing and finishing experience
- Experience with concrete pouring, placement, screeding and levelling
- Experience operating a concrete helicopter/power trowel
- A good understanding of safe work practices in a civil construction or earthworks environment
- The ability to work unsupervised and make practical decisions efficiently
- A positive attitude and willingness to assist other team members
- The ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- A willingness to work Saturdays when required
- A valid driver licence
- The ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and comply with Ross Reid Contractors' Drug and Alcohol Policy
Experience in other areas of civil construction would be an advantage, although training may be provided for the right person.
