Kiwi Adviser Network (KAN) is a financial advice provider (FAP) business based in Highland Park, Auckland. We help mortgage and insurance advisers in New Zealand run profitable and compliant businesses. Powered by Trail CRM, KAN gives financial advisers the freedom to let go of the administration burden to focus on what they do best - giving great financial advice.
We are seeking an experienced and pragmatic Adviser Standards Lead to support and strengthen adviser standards across the KAN network. Working closely with operational leadership and frontline advisers, you will drive quality assurance, identify conduct and advice risks, support onboarding due diligence, and help advisers and small FAPs achieve excellent client outcomes.
This will involve:- Leading and overseeing quality assurance activities, ensuring file reviews are accurate, evidence-based, and completed to agreed standards and timeframes.
- Monitoring adviser and FAP performance across the network, identifying trends and opportunities for practical improvements, training, and stronger controls.
- Coordinating documentation and evidence for lender requests, audits, internal reviews, and governance reporting, while tracking the completion of agreed actions.
- Presenting findings and remediation requirements to advisers in a constructive and relationship-focused manner, and overseeing progress against remediation plans.
- Conducting investigations into compliance failures and policy breaches, and preparing clear reports with practical recommendations.
- Providing second-tier due diligence and risk assessments for complex or higher-risk adviser onboarding matters, supporting fair and consistent decisions.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:- A strong understanding of New Zealand financial services legislation and compliance risk management, including FSLAA.
- Demonstrated experience conducting and reporting on financial advice file reviews within the mortgage, insurance, or investment sectors.
- Excellent analytical skills, sound judgement, and the ability to identify and address emerging risks.
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical guidance.
- The New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) or an equivalent qualification, which will be highly regarded.
Benefits include:- Work with a supportive, innovative team that celebrates success and enjoys the journey.
- Enjoy ongoing training, genuine autonomy, and real opportunities for growth.
- Based in Highland Park: easy parking, minimal traffic, and regular team walks, often with our office pets.
- A workplace that values trust, balance, and authenticity.
