    • Wairarapa Hunting & Fishing is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Full Time Retail Sales Assistant to join our busy Hunting Department.

    This is an exciting opportunity to work in our purpose-built store, assisting customers with hunting equipment, firearms accessories, outdoor gear, and providing expert advice and service.

    You will play an important role in assisting customers, selling products, organising and replenishing stock, and maintaining attractive merchandising displays throughout the department.

    This is a full-time permanent position. We are a seven-day-a-week business, operating weekdays from 8.30am - 5.30pm, Saturdays from 8.30am - 4.30pm, and Sundays from 9.00am - 4.00pm. The role will involve rotational or split weekend work.

    We are looking for a team player with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for hunting and the outdoors.

    To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
    • A current New Zealand Firearms Licence
    • A restricted or full drivers licence
    • Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with customers
    • Previous retail experience is preferred
    • A genuine interest in hunting, firearms, and outdoor activities
    • Outstanding customer service skills
    • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
    • An honest, reliable, and hardworking attitude
    • Strong attention to detail
    • A proactive and energetic approach to work
    • Excellent personal presentation
    • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
