    JRL Electrical is growing, and we're looking for an experienced and motivated Qualified Electrician to join our Christchurch team.

    We carry out a wide range of residential, commercial and HVAC projects across Canterbury, with much of our work focused on new builds, providing good, clean work and plenty of variety.

    Heat pump installation experience would be an advantage, but it is not essential. We're happy to support the right person to further develop their skills in this area. If you're a qualified electrician who enjoys working independently, takes pride in quality workmanship, and wants genuine work-life balance, we'd love to hear from you.

    About the Role

    Based from our Sydenham workshop, you'll work across Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region delivering high-quality electrical and HVAC installations for residential and commercial clients.

    You'll be responsible for:
    • Residential and commercial electrical installations
    • Following plans and specifications on new build projects
    • Installing heat pumps and HVAC systems where required
    • Testing, commissioning and verification of completed works
    • Liaising directly with builders, homeowners and clients
    • Maintaining high standards of workmanship and job documentation
    • Training and supporting apprentices
    • Working closely with management and reporting project progress
    What we're looking for:
    • NZ Registered Electrician with a current practising licence
    • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience
    • Experience in residential and/or commercial electrical work
    • Ability to work independently and manage your workload
    • Strong communication and customer service skills
    • Full NZ Driver Licence
    • Honest, hardworking and punctual
    • NZ Citizen or Resident currently living in New Zealand
    Bonus points for:
    • Heat pump installation experience
    • HVAC, EST or refrigeration experience
    • Commercial project experience
    • Experience mentoring apprentices
