About the role
We're looking for an experienced roofer or working foreperson to step into a key senior role with our small, established Queenstown roofing business.
This is a senior role in the business, suited to someone who enjoys being hands on while also helping run jobs, support the team and keep work moving smoothly. This is a full-time role, mostly hands on, with some office and planning responsibilities.
As a guide, the role will be approximately 80% on the tools and 20% office based, although this can be adjusted for the right person.
Key Responsibilities:- Completing roofing work to a high standard
- Leading and supporting the team on site
- Preparing quotes and estimates
- Planning upcoming jobs
- Managing stock levels and ordering materials
- Helping coordinate materials, timelines and job requirements
- Mentoring apprentices and less experienced team members
- Communicating clearly with clients, suppliers and the wider team
What you'll need
You'll be someone who takes pride in your work, communicates well and can be trusted to take ownership.
You'll need to:- Hold a current LBP licence in roofing, or be an experienced senior roofer with the ability to obtain LBP registration
- Have strong hands-on roofing experience
- Be physically fit and confident working at heights
- Have strong practical problem solving skills
- Be organised and comfortable with basic administration and computer systems
- Be confident communicating with clients, suppliers and team members
- Work well independently and as part of a team
- Be willing to mentor and train apprentices
- Hold a current full New Zealand driver's licence
- Have the legal right to work in New Zealand
Experience with quoting, estimating, stock management or job planning would be a strong advantage, but support can be provided for the right person.
