The Opportunity

This is a hands-on and influential role responsible for the overall finance function across the Gartshore Group. You will provide accurate financial reporting, drive process improvements, and deliver insights that support decision-making and business performance. You will also oversee key administrative functions including HR, IT, and insurance.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership
Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports,
Develop budgets, forecasts, and cashflow reporting
Monitor profitability, project performance, and work-in-progress (WIP)
Ensure compliance with tax obligations (PAYE, GST, FBT)
Work closely with external accountants and advisors
Operations & Business Support
Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and payment processes
Maintain financial controls and risk management practices
Support leadership with financial insights
Assisting with HR administration, employment documentation, and onboarding
Oversee IT function
Supporting Health & Safety compliance and business administration activities
Systems & Continuous Improvement
Enhance financial systems, reporting, and workflows
Drive efficiencies across finance and wider business operations

About You

You are a commercially minded Accountant with strong technical skills and a proactive approach. You enjoy working closely with operations and adding value beyond reporting.

Skills & Experience:

10+ years' experience in commercial finance or management accounting
Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business
Experience in construction, manufacturing or project-based environments
Experience in managing cashflow in the construction industry
Advanced Excel and general IT skills
Strong analytical capability with clear and confident communication skills
Experience with Xero, Nimbus or similar ERP systems
A passion for accuracy and meeting deadlines
A professional and practical approach to getting the work done
