    The Role

    As a Technical Field Officer, you'll be the boots-on-the-ground link between Vicentia's science and the growers who depend on it. You'll design and run commercial trials across key cropping regions, collect and interpret agronomic data, and help our distributor partners understand what it means for their clients.

    Your work will directly shape the local trial information we share with growers - turning real farm data into compelling evidence that drives better decisions and better outcomes.

    What You'll Be Doing:
    • Designing and implementing commercial trials - from planning through to data collection and final reporting
    • Collating and interpreting trial data into clear, meaningful insights for growers and distributors
    • Building strong relationships with distributor teams and supporting them in the field
    • Training distributor staff on data collection and product knowledge
    • Spotting and capitalising on trial opportunities as they arise across the season
    • Contributing to marketing material with real, credible, on-farm data
    • Representing Vicentia professionally in all interactions
    What We're Looking For

    Here's what actually matters to us:
    • Ideally (but not mandatory) a background in Agricultural Science, Rural Science, or a related field supported by a relevant university, Institute of Technology, Polytechnic, Primary ITO or other qualification
    • Some experience in field trial work - even short term (project) experience is a great foundation
    • A genuine understanding of farming and agricultural practices across the South Island
    • The ability to manage your own schedule and work independently in the field
    • Strong communication skills - you can explain data clearly to farmers and distributors alike
    • Confidence with the Microsoft Office suite
    • A current driver's licence is required for this position
    • We welcome field trial experience from a broad range of backgrounds, including agricultural trials, scientific research, and general field-based research work.
