We are seeking a motivated, technology-focused Vehicle Sales Consultant who is passionate about premium vehicles, customer service, and the rapidly evolving automotive landscape.
The Opportunity
This is not a traditional car sales role. Today's luxury vehicles are sophisticated technology platforms featuring advanced driver assistance systems, connected services, electrification, infotainment systems, digital interfaces, and intelligent safety technologies.
We are looking for an individual who enjoys learning, embraces technology, and can confidently demonstrate and explain complex vehicle features in a simple and engaging way to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver exceptional customer experiences throughout the entire sales journey.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Develop expert product knowledge across all vehicle models, technologies, and features.
- Conduct professional vehicle presentations and demonstrations.
- Guide customers through vehicle selection, finance introductions, trade-in processes, and delivery.
- Maintain regular contact with customers to support long-term ownership satisfaction and future sales opportunities.
- Proactively generate sales opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and digital channels.
- Ensure all customer interactions reflect the premium standards of Robertson Prestige and our distributor partners.
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity within dealership systems.
- Participate in dealership marketing activities, events, and product launches.
- Stay informed on industry developments, emerging vehicle technologies, electrification, and competitor products.
Technology & Product Expertise
The successful candidate will:- Have a genuine passion for automotive technology and innovation.
- Quickly learn and understand new vehicle systems and features.
- Become a trusted technology expert for customers.
- Confidently demonstrate advanced driver assistance systems, connectivity, EV and hybrid technologies, infotainment systems, safety systems, and digital cockpit functions.
- Explain technical features in a clear, customer-friendly manner.
- Continuously develop product knowledge as new models and technologies are introduced.
Training & Development
The successful candidate will:- Complete all required manufacturer and distributor training programmes.
- Achieve and maintain all distributor certification and qualification standards.
- Attend product training, launch events, and professional development programmes as required.
- Demonstrate a commitment to becoming a recognised product and technology specialist within the dealership.
Skills & Experience:- Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Highly motivated, professional, and results-driven.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Learns new technologies quickly and confidently.
- Comfortable using CRM systems and digital tools.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Professional personal presentation.
- Current full New Zealand driver's licence.
