Dalziel Development Ltd is a well-established building company based in Oamaru, delivering a diverse range of projects across residential homes, renovations, sheds, rural buildings, and landscaping works.

We're looking for an experienced Qualified Carpenter who is ready to take the next step in their career and lead projects with the support of a great team behind them.

About the Role

This is a hands-on role where you'll work alongside a skilled team while taking increasing responsibility for project delivery.

You'll start by leading smaller jobs and, as you establish yourself, you can progress into managing larger and more complex projects.

You'll be trusted to:

Lead building projects from start to finish
Coordinate site activities
Maintain high standards of workmanship and presentation
Mentor an apprentice
Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and the team
Plan ahead and solve problems as they arise
Help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard

About You

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well, and enjoys being part of a close-knit team.

You'll ideally bring:

National Certificate in Carpentry (or equivalent)
4+ years' experience as a qualified carpenter
Experience running jobs or supervising smaller projects
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Experience across a variety of construction projects
Good planning, organisation, and communication skills
A positive attitude and willingness to lead by example
Physical fitness and confidence working at heights
Full NZ Driver Licence
Current NZ work rights (or valid visa with at least 12 months remaining and relevant NZ or Australian experience)
