The Smits Group is looking for a Warehousing & Logistics Controller to join our East Tamaki team. This is a hands-on operational role focused on inventory accuracy, warehouse organisation, freight coordination and logistics performance across multiple warehouse locations throughout New Zealand.

What You'll Be Doing
This role combines inventory control, warehouse coordination, logistics management and operational improvement into one dynamic position.
You'll be involved in:- Managing inbound shipments, stock verification and warehouse put-away
- Monitoring inventory accuracy across multiple warehouse locations
- Coordinating stocktakes and cycle counting processes
- Maintaining FIFO stock rotation procedures
- Investigating stock variances and inventory discrepancies
- Managing inter-branch stock transfers and warehouse replenishment
- Liaising with freight providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective logistics
- Monitoring aged, slow-moving and obsolete inventory
- Supporting dangerous goods compliance and warehouse safety procedures
- Reviewing and improving warehouse organisation and storage systems
- Assisting with warehouse automation and operational improvement initiatives
- Supporting purchasing and operational supply requirements across branches
- Working alongside warehouse, procurement, administration and branch teams to improve operational efficiency
What We're Looking For:- 5+ years' experience in inventory, warehousing or logistics management
- Strong inventory control and warehouse operations knowledge
- Experience with ERP systems and inventory management software
- Understanding of FIFO inventory procedures
- Experience coordinating stocktakes and cycle counts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisational and communication abilities
- Dangerous goods knowledge or experience highly regarded
- Current forklift licence preferred
- Good computer literacy and reporting capability
- A proactive attitude with strong attention to detail
- Someone who enjoys improving systems, processes and operational efficiency
