Tamatea High School is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Guitar Tutor to join our Arts team in a part-time role supporting the musical development of our ākonga.
This position involves working with secondary students in individual and/or small group lessons, helping learners develop confidence, creativity, and practical guitar skills across a range of styles and abilities.
We are looking for someone who:- Has strong guitar skills and teaching ability
- Can build positive relationships with young people
- Is reliable, organised, and encouraging
- Supports inclusive and culturally responsive practice
- Enjoys helping students grow through music and performance
Position Details:- 3 hours per week
- 38 weeks per year (term time only)
- $50 per hour
- Start date negotiable
The successful applicant will contribute to the wider Arts culture of the kura and may support students preparing for performances, assemblies, and school events.

Previous experience teaching guitar to young people is preferred. Experience working within schools or community music programmes would be an advantage.
