About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Technical Field Officer to join our New Zealand team, based in the South Island region.
Ideally located in or around Ashburton, Canterbury, this role will work closely with our business partners, farmers, and internal technical teams to design, implement, monitor, and report on commercial field trials across a range of crop and pasture systems.
This is a hands-on role combining technical trial work with strong commercial engagement. You will play a key role in demonstrating the agronomic and financial benefits of product programs and farming practice improvements under real commercial farming conditions.
The successful candidate will enjoy working independently, building strong relationships in the agricultural sector, and contributing to the success of distributors and end-users throughout the South Island.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, implement, and monitor commercial field trials across crop and pasture systems
- Collect, analyse, and report trial data and present findings to farmers and distributors
- Support and train business partners in trial processes and data collection
- Build strong relationships with farmers, distributors, and internal technical teams
- Provide technical support and product training to support commercial outcomes
- Identify and develop new trial opportunities within the region
- Maintain accurate reporting, communication, and safe work practices
- Manage workload independently while providing regular updates to the Country Manager
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:- A tertiary qualification in Agricultural Science, Rural Science, or related discipline
- 2-3 years' experience in agricultural field trial work
- Strong understanding of South Island farming systems and agricultural practices
- Demonstrated experience successfully managing trials from planning through to completion
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule effectively
- Strong analytical, logical, and critical-thinking skills
- Competency across Microsoft Office applications
- A current full driver licence
