About Cockram Motor Group
Cockram Motor Group is one of New Zealand's leading automotive retail groups, representing more than 20 brands across eight dealerships spanning passenger vehicles, motorcycles and campers.
The role
We're looking for an experienced and driven Group Marketing Manager to lead the marketing function across the group. Someone who is commercially sharp and a high-performing leader who can drive results across a fast-moving multi-brand environment. This is a senior leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
You'll lead strategy, campaigns, sponsorships, launches, digital performance and brand growth across a diverse portfolio, while working closely with dealership leadership, manufacturer partners and external agencies.
No two days are the same. One moment you may be developing quarterly marketing plans and reviewing campaign performance, and the next coordinating sponsorship activations, briefing creative assets or launching a digital campaign.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning:- Lead marketing strategy, planning and budgeting for the group and its franchise brands.
- Align dealership marketing activity with manufacturer objectives and local market opportunities
- Identify opportunities for growth, innovation and improved customer engagement
Campaign Management:- Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social, radio, outdoor, events and traditional channels
- Coordinate promotional activity across multiple dealerships and brands simultaneously
- Manage campaign timelines, creative development and supplier relationships
- Ensure campaigns deliver measurable commercial outcomes
Sponsorships & Events:- Manage sponsorship partnerships and community engagement initiatives
- Oversee event planning and activation across the group
- Ensure sponsorship activity aligns with brand positioning and business objectives
Digital & Analytics:- Oversee digital marketing performance including paid media, SEO, social media and website activity
- Monitor analytics, reporting and campaign effectiveness
- Use data and insights to optimise performance and inform decision making
- Work closely with agency and platform partners
Team Leadership:- Lead, mentor and support the marketing team
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture
- Prioritise workloads across a busy and fast-moving environment
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across all dealerships
About You
We're looking for someone who combines strategic capability with a willingness to roll up their sleeves and get things done.
You'll ideally bring:- Proven marketing leadership experience within retail, automotive or multi-site environments
- Strong understanding of digital marketing and analytics
- Experience managing multiple brands, stakeholders and competing priorities
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- High attention to detail and strong organisational ability
- A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused mindset
- Experience leading teams and external agency partners
