|
Tamatea High School is seeking an organised, culturally responsive, and student-centred International Director to lead our growing International Programme.
This full-time role (40 hours per week) combines programme leadership, pastoral care, homestay oversight, compliance, student support, and international relationship management into one key position within our kura.
You will work closely with international ākonga, whānau, homestay families, agents, and school staff to ensure students are safe, supported, included, and able to thrive academically and personally within Te Kura Tuarua o Tamatea.
The successful applicant will:- Lead and coordinate the day-to-day international programme
- Support student wellbeing, attendance, learning, and transition into New Zealand schooling
- Oversee homestay systems and student safety
- Manage enrolments, orientation, records, communication, and compliance
- Build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and external agencies
- Support strategic growth and quality assurance of the programme
We are looking for someone who is:- Warm, professional, and highly organised
- Calm under pressure and solutions-focused
- Skilled in communication and relationship building
- Culturally responsive and committed to student wellbeing
- Experienced in education, pastoral care, international programmes, or a similar people-focused role
Experience within schools, international education, ESOL, or pastoral systems is highly desirable.
Position details:- 40 hours per week
