About the Role
Discover Tekapo is seeking an experienced and motivated Housekeeping Manager to lead our dedicated cleaning and housekeeping team. This is a permanent, full-time role in one of New Zealand's most stunning locations, ensuring our holiday homes are presented to the highest standard for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and manage staff rosters and attendance
- Create and coordinate daily cleaning schedules, allocating staff, and monitoring progress.
- Supervise and train staff to meet quality and health & safety standards.
- Monitor guest and owner feedback, resolve service issues, and maintain high presentation standards.
- Order and manage linen and cleaning supplies.
- Ensure properties are checked and meet presentation standards before guest arrivals.
- Support team leaders and provide hands-on help when required.
- Maintain communication with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Recruit and onboard new team members.
- Ensure security and end-of-day procedures are followed, including key and vehicle management.
Minimum Requirements:- At least 3 years' experience working as a holiday home cleaner or in a similar role.
- Proven ability to supervise and train staff.
- Good communication skills in spoken and written English.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Physically fit for a hands-on, active role.
- Full driver's licence valid in New Zealand.
- Must be legally able to work in NZ (AEWV applicants welcome).
- Willingness to live in Lake Tekapo and work weekends/public holidays.
Role Details:- Type: Permanent, full-time (minimum 30 hours per week; ongoing employment).
- Pay rate: $30-$32 per hour, depending on experience.
- Hours: Rostered shifts including weekends and public holidays (two rostered days off per week).
