Red Square Construction Ltd is a reputable, growing company specialising in high-quality residential construction across the North Shore and Rodney areas. We handle everything from new builds and extensions to renovations, reclads, retaining walls, and decks.
We're looking for an experienced Hammerhand / Builder or experienced Apprentice (3+ years) to join our small, tight-knit team.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:- Solid residential construction experience, especially in renovations
- Minimum 3 years' experience in the construction industry
- Own hand and battery / power tools
- Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results
- Sound knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
- Full Class 1 driver's licence and reliable vehicle
- NZ citizen or permanent resident (no visa holders)
- Physically fit, reliable, and located in the North Shore or Rodney area
- Able to pass drug and alcohol testing if required
Working with the project manager and other team members, you will be involved in a range of residential projects - from renovations to new builds.
This will include, but not be limited to:- Perform carpentry work including demolition, framing, wall linings, cladding, roofing (metal longrun), doors and windows installation, retaining walls, decks, and fences
- Carry out manual and mechanical excavations using spades, augers, diggers, etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install wood, metal, and other materials
- Ensure accuracy and quality of workmanship while adhering to building codes and safety regulations
- Assist with supervising apprentices, hammer hands, and subtrades when required
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite and promote a strong health & safety culture
