Clarkes Seed & Feed Ltd is a trusted, family-owned Southland business proudly supporting the rural community since 1995. We supply high-quality stockfeeds, brassica seed, pasture mixes, and certified seed products, backed by friendly service and expert advice.
We are seeking a reliable and versatile Seasonal Administration / Customer Service / Yard & Sales Assistant to join our Invercargill team for the busy season, approximately July through December, with potential for further seasonal work depending on demand.
About the Role
This is a full-time seasonal position working Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (normally 42.5 hours per week).
This is a diverse role combining administration, customer service, sales support, yard duties, stock coordination, and forklift operation. It would suit someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in accuracy, and is happy to pitch in wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities:- Serve customers in-store and over the phone with friendly, professional service
- Process sales, invoices, delivery dockets, EFTPOS, and cash transactions
- Take orders, coordinate deliveries, and assist with dispatch
- Provide stockfeed, seed, and nutrition product advice
- Load and unload vehicles and freight using a forklift
- Maintain stock control and check incoming deliveries
- Complete general administration, filing, and data entry
- Help keep the yard, office, and retail areas clean, tidy, and secure
- Assist with promotions, website/Facebook updates, and newsletters as required
About You
We're looking for someone energetic, reliable, and adaptable who enjoys working in a small team and can confidently manage a range of tasks.

- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Initiative and ability to work independently
- Honest, trustworthy, and dependable nature
- Reasonable physical fitness (regular lifting of 25kg bags)
- Flexibility during busy seasonal periods
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Preferred Experience:- Administration experience
- Previous retail or customer service experience
- Forklift licence or forklift experience
- Warehouse, yard, or dispatch experience
- Experience in rural, agricultural, or feed-related industries
- Farming or rural knowledge advantageous
- MYOB / Ostendo experience beneficial
