About the Role
IQ Security is looking for a motivated and technically capable L2 Help Desk & Technical Support Coordinator to join our Albany-based team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong IT foundation who enjoys solving complex technical issues and supporting integrated security systems.
As a Level 2 support specialist, you will handle escalated technical issues requiring in-depth troubleshooting and analysis. You'll act as a key link between field technicians and system administration, supporting system commissioning, remote troubleshooting, and operational coordination.
Key Responsibilities:- L2 Technical Support & System Administration
- Act as the primary escalation point for software and hardware issues across security platforms
- Support and maintain client IT environments, including Windows-based servers and dedicated systems
- Troubleshoot networking and integration issues between security systems and client infrastructure
- System Commissioning & Field Support
- Remotely commission integrated CCTV, alarm, and access control systems
- Provide technical guidance to field technicians during installations
- Configure and optimise security hardware, including camera systems
- Support Coordination & Scheduling
- Provide cover for the Support Scheduling Team during peak periods or staff leave
- Manage support tickets and coordinate technician dispatch
- Ensure accurate triaging and prioritisation of service requests to meet SLAs
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of system configurations and support history
Technical Skills & Experience:- Security Platforms: Exposure to enterprise security systems (or strong transferable IT experience)
- Hardware: Experience with CCTV cameras, alarms, and access control hardware
- IT & Networking:
- Windows Server and PC administration - TCP/IP networking - VPN and remote access configuration - Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in an IT or security help desk environment
