House of Huia is the South Island's premier auction house - a place for all things rare, exquisite, and truly exceptional. We regularly run auctions for art, antiques, vintage, collectible, and estate items.
We are seeking a talented and efficient Stock Photographer to join our team on a part-time basis (20-24 hours per week). Hours can be flexible to suit the right candidate and business needs. This is a casual position with the opportunity for a longer term role in the future.
This role is ideal for someone with a natural eye for composition and detail, who thrives on producing high volumes of consistently high-quality images. You will be responsible for photographing a wide range of unique and valuable items for our auction catalogues and online platforms.
Key responsibilities include:- Photographing auction items to a high standard with consistency and accuracy
- Producing large volumes of images efficiently without compromising quality (current rate 50-100 items per hour photographed & uploaded)
- Preparing and organising images for use in catalogues and online listings
- Working closely with the team to ensure deadlines are met
- Maintaining photography equipment and workspace
Our ideal candidate will have:- A strong eye for photography, composition, and lighting
- Confidence working at pace while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Good organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient computer skills for file handling and image management
Experience is not essential - we are open to candidates with the right attitude, creative eye, and willingness to learn.
