We're a proudly NZ-owned business with multiple locations across the North Island and a long-standing, experienced team in the office products industry. As we continue to grow and evolve, we're looking for a Data & Inventory Analyst to join our centralised Data Team in the Manawatu.

About the Role
This role sits at the intersection of data, pricing, and inventory strategy. You'll be responsible for analysing and transforming data into meaningful insights that improve profitability, optimise stock levels, and support better decision-making across the business.
A key focus will be building and maintaining reliable data pipelines using Excel Power Query, along with supporting and developing Power BI reporting.

Key Responsibilities:- Build and maintain repeatable data pipelines using Excel Power Query and Power BI
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance Power BI reports (data models, DAX, visuals, refresh)
- Develop and improve pricing models, templates, and systems
- Manage product pricing data and ensure accuracy across databases
- Conduct customer contract pricing reviews
- Deliver inventory insights to support procurement and stock optimisation
- Support strategies to reduce deadstock while improving availability
- Assist with supplier selection from a financial and data-driven perspective
- Contribute to process improvements and overall data governance
What we're looking for:
We're looking for someone with strong technical data skills and a practical, solutions-focused mindset. You'll be comfortable working with large datasets, building reliable reporting, and communicating insights clearly to stakeholders across the business.
You'll bring:- Experience in a data-focused role using Power BI (including DAX) and Excel Power Query
- Confidence working with large datasets, including shaping and merging data (Power Query M)
- Solid understanding of data quality, reconciliation, and repeatable processes
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, including financial modelling for pricing and forecasting
- A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Business, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- Detail-focused with a high level of accuracy
- Curious, proactive, and always looking for ways to improve processes
- Able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
- A team player who enjoys contributing to a positive, collaborative environment
Bonus if you have:- Experience or interest in using AI tools (e.g. Copilot) to improve efficiency and automation
- Exposure to inventory, procurement, or product-based environments
