  • Lead meaningful land development projects in Hawke's Bay while enjoying a genuine work-life balance. Strata Group Consulting Engineers are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to take ownership of projects, guide and mentor staff and play a key role in delivering high-quality outcomes.

    Strata Group is a highly regarded multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with a proven track record in structural and civil engineering. Our team of 30+ professionals are based in Hawkes Bay where we combine technical excellence with a collaborative and down-to-earth culture.

    With a strong pipeline of work, this is an opportunity to step into a role with real responsibility, leadership and career progression learning from industry leaders. You will lead and deliver civil engineering projects from concept through to consenting and construction. You will work closely with clients, councils and project teams while mentoring staff and contributing to project success.

    Key role responsibilities include:
    • Leading civil design for residential, commercial and industrial developments
    • Delivering land development projects
    • Managing client relationships, project teams and project financials
    • Coordinating with clients, consultants and local authorities
    • Producing high-quality engineering documentation and reports
    • Overseeing contract management and construction monitoring
    You are an experienced and passionate civil engineer who enjoys both technical delivery and mentoring others. You are confident working within the New Zealand regulatory environment and are ready to take ownership of projects.

    You will bring:
    • 4-year Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
    • 5+ years' NZ experience in civil/land development design
    • Strong knowledge of NZ standards, consenting and local authority processes
    • Proven ability to manage projects and build client relationships
    • Ability to communicate technical and complex information clearly and effectively
    • Excellent report writing and communication skills
    • Experience with hydraulic modelling (advantageous)
    • CPEng (or working towards) highly regarded
