We are preparing for future growth and to help us on the journey we're looking for a capable, people-focused Sales and Estimating Manager to join our team and develop and grow our sales pipeline.
What You'll Be Doing
As our Sales and Estimating Manager, you'll be responsible for managing the end-to-end sales process - from inbound enquiry to agreed quote - and ensuring our sales pipeline is strong, well-qualified, and consistently converted. This is a hands-on role combining client engagement with detailed scoping, pricing, and estimating of landscaping work. You'll lead our small sales team and work closely with the Operations and Business Support teams to ensure our work is profitable, deliverable at our quality standards, and aligned with client needs. Your success will be measured not only in sales outcomes but in the strength of our client relationships and your strategic contribution as a member of our leadership team.
Responsibilities include:- Own and manage the full sales pipeline from enquiry through to accepted quote
- Meet clients on site, understand their needs, and build strong, long-term relationships
- Prepare and deliver accurate quotes for landscaping projects and maintenance work
- Follow up opportunities and improve conversion rates through structured pipeline management
- Work closely with Operations to ensure jobs are scoped realistically and set up for successful delivery
- Monitor pipeline performance, margins, and job profitability
- Collaborate with marketing to convert leads and improve campaign performance
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and overall commercial performance
What We're Looking For:- At least 3 years in a sales or client management role, ideally within a landscaping business.
- Proven experience pricing or estimating landscaping (or similar construction-based) work.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and convert a high-volume, multi-channel sales pipeline.
- A collaborative and team-oriented approach - comfortable working closely with operations and support functions.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to coach and mentor junior team members and ensure that their workload is integrated and focused on winning work.
- Strong horticultural knowledge and experience in both hard and soft landscaping.
- Able to provide clear, sound advice to clients on maintaining and/or redesigning their gardens, including specific plant care knowledge.
- Knowledge of hard landscaping and able to plan effort/materials that are required to deliver projects and translate this into clear understandable quotes that will win work.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to price and scope work confidently and profitably across hard and soft landscaping tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High standards of professionalism and customer care.
Other Requirements:- Full NZ driver's licence.
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand
