At Beststeel, we design and build high-quality custom steel gates, fencing, and balustrades. We're looking for an experienced Welder / Fabricator to take charge of projects from fabrication through to installation.
This is a hands-on role - ideal for someone who takes pride in their craft and leads by example on the tools.
The Role
You'll be leading from the front in the workshop, ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard, on time, and safely. You'll coordinate the team, manage workflow, and be the go-to person on the job.
What You'll Be Doing:- Maintain punctuality, reliability and accurate time / job tracking in Tradify
- Fabricate and assemble steel / aluminium products to a high standard in line with drawing and company guidelines
- Inspect and quality-check work before it leaves the workshop
- Lead by example on the tools and support / training of team members
- Coordinate with installation teams to ensure timely delivery of parts and materials
- Operate, maintain and care for tools, machinery and workshop equipment
- Manage materials, consumables and stock organisation
- Keep the workshop, storage areas, and equipment clean, tidy and organised
- Assist with onsite installation, deliveries and pickups as required
- Follow and promote strong health and safety practices
- Take pride in workmanship and contribute to a positive, team-focused culture
What We're Looking For:- Proven experience as a welder / fabricator (essential)
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong MIG / TIG welding and fabrication skills
- Ability to read and work from plans and drawings
- Hands-on attitude - not afraid to get stuck in
- Good organisation and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, punctual and takes ownership of their work
- Strong communication skills with team and clients
