J J Niven Engineering is a heavy mechanical engineering company based in Palmerston North. We offer design, fabrication, machining, maintenance and industrial installation services to a local and national client base.
Due to growth we have the following position available;
Heavy Fabricator
This position is suited to an experienced fabricator who enjoys a diverse range of fabrication projects. You will work with our in-house designers, and fitter / turners to create products for a range of industries.
Skills required:- Skilled Fabricator / Welder
- Ability to fabricate from drawings to a high standard including fit-up and layout skills
- Ability to pay attention to detail and multitask effectively
- An excellent safety record
- Mechanical fitting experience and an ability to do site work would be advantageous
Due to the range of work undertaken by this company the successful applicants will also enjoy the opportunity to work on other fabrication projects to enhance their skills and maintain their interest in the trade.
Remuneration is negotiable and dependent on your skills and abilities. Employment is full time with no less than 40 hours per week. Approved overtime may be required and is remunerated at a negotiated overtime rate.
