    We are currently looking for a Service Manager / Outboard Technician to join our busy multi-franchised company at our North Shore Branch.

    About the Role

    This is a dual role for someone who's not only qualified on the tools but has good administrative skills. You'll split your time between keeping the workshop running smoothly and efficiently from an administrative perspective and rolling up your sleeves for hands-on mechanical work.     What You'll Be Doing:
    • Manage service department
    • Raising and processing invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Scheduling workshop jobs for all service department staff
    • Manage workshop capacity, job allocations, and technician productivity
    • Keeping the computer system up to date
    • Ordering parts specific for our service department jobs
    • Process warranty claims
    • Maintain and complete any technical training for yourself required for company certification as required for our brands, also monitor that service dept techs training is up to date.
    • Financial & Performance Management
    • Manage service department budgets, cost control, and profitability targets.
    • Track key KPIs such as throughput, labour efficiency, CSI ratings, and rework levels.
    • Collaborate with other departments to optimize workflow and revenue opportunities.
    • Quality & Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards, warranty policies, and industry regulations.
    • Implement and maintain quality control processes .
    • Ensure maintenance of accurate service records, documentation, and reporting.
    • Customer Service & Communication
    • Handle escalations, resolve service issues, and maintain strong customer satisfaction scores.
    • Provide clear explanations of repair needs, timelines, and costs, ensuring transparency and trust.
    • Mechanical
    • Hands-on, Outboard repairs, diagnostic's, servicing new and used powerboat outboard fit-outs including repowers
    • Fitting of powerboat electronics and other associated fittings and components.   
    • Supporting the workshop team with diagnostic and general mechanical work.
    • Ensuring all mechanical tasks meet quality and safety standards.
    What We're Looking For:
    • A competent qualified outboard technician
    • Mechanical Outboard experience with Powerboats.
    • Confident with computers and office administration - invoicing, scheduling, data entry, and efficiency report interpretation.
    • Highly organised with the ability to juggle multiple priorities, someone who can multi task, with excellent time management, be able to work under pressure and to deadlines
    • Motivated self-starter who thrives with variety and takes ownership.
    • Strong communicator - able to liaise with managers, team members and suppliers.
    • Relevant mechanical qualifications
    • Full Class 1 licence essential
    • Forklift licence would be an advantage but not essential but will need to be obtained in time, free of charge.
    • Someone who can maintain a clean tidy work area.
    • Be able to work unsupervised and able to work with others in a team environment
