Absolute Stainless in Whangārei is hiring an Experienced Stainless Steel Tradesman/Fabricator who wants quality work without sacrificing lifestyle.
We work 80 hours per fortnight - Monday to Thursday 7:00am - 4:30pm and every second Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm - Giving you a three day weekend every fortnight that is 26 long weekends a year.
No traffic. No chaos. Just good work and real time off.
We're a modern, purpose-built workshop with a strong local reputation.
This is light-gauge stainless fabrication - not repetitive factory work.
We build:
Architectural handrails
Commercial kitchen fit-outs
Custom bench tops
Tanks and specialty projects
We're looking for someone who:
Proven experience in light gauge stainless steel fabrication is essential
Is confident TIG welding (MIG a bonus)
Strong understanding of stainless steel grades, finishes, and fabrication techniques
Reads drawings accurately
Takes pride in clean finishing
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
Current drivers licence (preferred)
Enjoys a small, supportive team with good banter
Is reliable and self-driven
Trade qualification (desirable but not essential if skills are proven)
