    • Hunting & Fishing Gisborne is looking for an experienced Senior Retailer - Assistant Manager to help lead one of the top-performing stores in the Hunting & Fishing group.

    This role suits someone confident in retail leadership who also enjoys getting outdoors - hunting, fishing, or exploring - and wants to combine their passion with a long-term retail career.

    About the Role

    Working alongside the Store Manager, you'll support daily operations while leading the team on the shop floor.

    Key responsibilities include:
    • Supporting store operations and team leadership
    • Delivering outstanding customer service
    • Managing stock performance (stock turns, rotation, aged inventory & seasonal cycles)
    • Maintaining strong merchandising and store presentation
    • Identifying opportunities to improve floor layout and sales performance
    • Assisting with staff coaching and development
    Skills & Experience:
    • Previous retail experience in a senior or supervisory role
    • Experience managing or leading staff
    • Strong understanding of retail sales cycles and merchandising
    • Customer-focused with confident communication skills
    • Passion for the outdoors
    • Firearms Licence and hunting or fishing knowledge (beneficial).

    This is a full time opportunity working 5 days per week; Mon-Thurs: 8:30am - 5:30pm, Fri: 8:00am - 5:30pm, and Sat: 8:30am - 2:30pm (4:00pm during December). You'll have one weekday + Sundays off.
