    We're looking for a capable and driven Construction Manager to lead the day-to-day running of our Auckland construction operations. This is a pivotal leadership role with real influence - overseeing projects from A to Z while working closely with our Director and QS to support the continued growth of the business.

    While experience in residential construction is highly valued, it is not essential. If you come from a different but relevant industry and bring strong leadership, operational management, and programme delivery skills - we want to hear from you.

    About the Role

    Based primarily in our Mt Wellington office, you'll balance site visits with operational leadership - ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably, and on (or ahead of) schedule.

    This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll lead from the front, support your team, manage stakeholders, and maintain oversight of labour, materials, contractors, and programme timelines.

    No two days are the same - this role is perfect for someone who enjoys diversity, accountability, and making an impact.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Overarching responsibility for safe and profitable delivery of projects across the Auckland region
    • Leadership of health, safety, and environmental management
    • Driving continuous improvement of safety culture within the delivery team
    • Project planning and scheduling (including timelines and monthly reporting)
    • Managing programme delivery to meet (and exceed) client expectations
    • Direct leadership of large-scale construction projects
    • Oversight and support of Project Managers and Site Foremen
    • Labour and resource management, including hiring when required
    • Coordination of materials, contractors, and long-lead items
    • Supporting business development and identifying growth opportunities
    • Managing contractual obligations and commercial performance
    What We're Looking For

    You might currently be a Construction Manager, Senior Project Manager, Operations Manager, or similar - or you may come from a parallel industry where programme delivery, people leadership, and operational oversight are key.

    Ideally, you will bring:
    • Proven experience in residential construction or a comparable project-driven industry in NZ
    • Strong knowledge of NZS3604, NZ Building Code, and health & safety compliance (or ability to quickly get across these)
    • Excellent stakeholder management skills
    • Confident, friendly, professional communication style
    • Strong organisational and multitasking capability
    • Ability to think on your feet and solve problems decisively
    • Experience with budgeting, tendering, and project feasibilities
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
    • Experience with Microsoft Project (or similar planning software)
    • Experience with BuildaPrice / BuildaTrend (or strong technical capability to learn systems quickly)
