Maximum Tiling is seeking an experienced Lead Tiler to take ownership of high-end tiling projects across Greater Auckland. This is a hands-on leadership role for a craft-focused professional who takes pride in premium finishes, strong site coordination, and leading a small team to deliver exceptional results.
You'll oversee jobs from set-out to handover, ensuring quality, safety, and smooth coordination with builders, clients, and our sister company Maximum Stone to achieve seamless, "reads as one piece" finishes across materials.
What You'll Be Doing:- Lead day-to-day site operations, toolbox talks, and job sequencing
- Plan and approve set-outs, levels, patterns, and tile direction
- Deliver premium installation and finishing (mitres, edges, trims, grout & silicone)
- Verify or carry out substrate prep and waterproofing interfaces
- Supervise and coach tilers/apprentices, maintaining pace and quality
- Maintain a tidy, safe site with full PPE and silica control compliance
- Coordinate with builders and other trades to minimise rework
- Manage materials, deliveries, wastage, and job documentation
What We're Looking For
Must-Have:- Minimum 5 years' professional tiling experience, including premium residential work
- Proven on-site leadership and quality control
- Strong set-out, layout, and plan-reading skills
- High-end finishing standards and attention to detail
- Solid understanding of waterproofing interfaces and movement joints
- Clear communicator, calm under pressure
- Full NZ driver licence and physically capable of the role
Nice-to-Have:- Manufacturer training or waterproofing certificates
- Experience coordinating multiple trades
- Site Safe and/or First Aid certification
