About the Role
The Embroidery Machine Operator is responsible for producing high-quality embroidered garments efficiently and accurately. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work independently. You will plan and manage your own daily workload from the production schedule and ensure all jobs are completed correctly and on time.
This is a role with a high degree of autonomy. While full training and support are provided, the successful applicant must be confident managing their own workflow, problem-solving issues as they arise, and taking ownership of outcomes, once fully trained.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate commercial embroidery machines to complete customer orders to specification.
- Set up embroidery jobs including garment loading, design selection, thread colours, and placement.
- Plan and prioritise daily work from the production schedule.
- Monitor embroidery quality throughout production and make adjustments as required.
- Carry out ongoing quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and high standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot common embroidery issues and resolve them independently where appropriate.
- Communicate any issues, delays, or errors clearly and in a timely manner.
- Work collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area.
- Regular machine maintenance and problem solving.
- Assist in other areas of the business when required, recognising the needs of a small team environment.
We are open to applicants with no prior embroidery experience, as full training will be provided.
Essential Attributes:- Very strong spoken and written English skills.
- Ability to confidently read and interpret job instructions and work orders.
- Clear verbal communication with team members regarding job requirements, issues, and priorities.
- Ability to accurately follow written processes and documentation.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative.
- Flexible and willing to support other areas of the business when required.
- Friendly, respectful, and works well as part of a team.
Experience:- Embroidery experience is not required.
- Sewing or garment-handling experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience in a production, manufacturing, or hands-on role is beneficial.
This role requires self-motivation, organisation, and accountability. Clear communication is critical due to the accuracy, quality, and safety requirements of the role.
This is a full time role. A competitive remuneration package is on offer aligned with the skills and experience you bring to the role.
