We're on the lookout for a reliable Class 4 Truck Driver to join our busy landscaping and outdoor construction team. If you enjoy being outdoors, take pride in your driving, and like variety in your day, this could be the role for you.
About the role
In this role, you'll safely operate a Class 4 truck to support landscaping and construction projects. You'll be responsible for transporting materials, machinery, and spoil between suppliers, our yard, and job sites - while maintaining high standards of safety, professionalism, and vehicle care.
You'll be more than just a driver - you'll be a valued part of the crew, helping keep projects running smoothly.
Key responsibilities:- Safely operate Class 4 vehicles in line with road rules, load limits, logbooks, and CoF/WoF requirements
- Deliver and collect landscaping and construction materials (metal, soil, bark, sand, timber, concrete products, etc.)
- Cart soil and construction waste to approved disposal facilities
- Load and unload materials using tipper trucks, restraints, and manual handling where required
- Complete daily pre-start checks and report any vehicle issues
- Keep vehicles clean, well-presented, and loads securely restrained
- Assist on-site when required (basic labouring, site setup, spotter duties)
- Communicate clearly with foremen and site leads regarding deliveries, access, and hazards
- Follow all company health & safety systems, including traffic management and incident reporting
Skills & experience
Essential:- Full NZ Driver Licence with minimum Class 4
- Proven experience operating heavy vehicles (tipper experience preferred)
- Strong safety focus and a good driving record
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
Preferred (but not essential):- WTR endorsement (Wheels, Tracks & Rollers)
- Class 5 licence
- Forklift (F) endorsement
- Experience working around landscaping or construction sites
