We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual who can work independently without the need for micromanagement, take ownership of their workday, and consistently deliver high-quality workmanship. You will be practical, reliable, adaptable,and confident working both on your own and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities / Skills:- Independently manage daily tasks and workload
- Communicate effectively with team members and management, including phone communication
- Confidently use technology and own a smartphone. This is essential, as we work remotely with no fixed office. You must be able to access required apps on your phone and provide updates via WhatsApp and Farm Service Manager
- Willing and able to learn and adapt to our systems and ways of working, with an open mindset and flexibility to embrace new processes.
- General mechanical work including use of grinders, welders, and similar equipment
- On-site installations and structural assembly
- Managing material orders, deliveries, and collections
- Troubleshooting design challenges and providing innovative solutions
- Maintaining quality assurance throughout the production process and day to day operations
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Required to travel outside of the Waikato region (We have various work sites in the Bay of Plenty and Auckland region) Travel time compensated
- Repairing and servicing small motors and tools
- Keep accurate notes and provide progress updates to management
- Ability to adhere to and actively participating in the Growtech Health and Safety Policies and site rules
- Previous management experience is desirable but not essential
