    • At General Marine Services (GMS), we've been keeping vessels moving for over 32 years - from private yachts and commercial fleets to visiting international craft. We're now looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic or Marine Engineer who thrives on variety, problem-solving, and hands-on technical work.

    About the Role

    You'll work on everything from small pleasure craft to large commercial vessels, diagnosing faults, servicing diesel engines, and maintaining marine systems of all types. Every day brings new challenges - no two jobs are ever quite the same.

    You'll get opportunities to use and expand your diagnostic and technical skills, including working with computer interface systems. We'll provide training on specific brands and technologies so you can grow your expertise while working alongside some other passionate marine engineers.

    What We're Looking For

    We're after someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys a challenge, and knows their way around an engine room.

    Ideally, you'll bring:
    • Qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or Marine Engineer.
    • Solid grounding in engineering principles and marine systems.
    • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills - computer interface experience a plus.
    • A practical, problem-solving mindset and the drive to get things done.
    • A team-first attitude, good communication skills, and professional conduct.
    • Your own basic hand tools (essential).
