IoT Ventures designs, builds and operates world-leading long-range, low power internet of things solutions. We develop solutions based on LoRaWAN where other communications technologies are too expensive or power hungry, including: agriculture, animal welfare, safety, environmental management, boating and recreation.
Two of our solutions, HorseSafe and BoatSecure are ready to be marketed and sold in New Zealand and internationally. You will drive sales and revenue for these products.
Although New Zealand is a great test market, your focus will be on growing international sales.
The role suits someone with a passion for selling innovative technology solutions to consumers. You will need to engage directly with consumers and others associated with providing horse and boat related services. You will be supported by the solution development and marketing teams. You will lead the sales execution and channel development for these products.
You will need to generate leads, grow on-line channels, build relationships, educate people, and close sales. You will be energetic, success-oriented, have initiative, and be a quick learner.
These are the key functions:- Implement and improve a plan to address target market segments
- Promote the offerings, leveraging on-line tools, mail campaigns, outbound calls, social media, web advertising, etc.
- Generate and manage leads, make cold calls, build relationships and close sales
- Establish and maintain channel relationships and ecosystem partners
- Ensure ordering and fulfilment process is working effectively
- Report on business development KPIs
- Provide feedback to the solution development and marketing teams to improve the product, GTM approaches and campaigns
We are ideally looking for high performers having the following skills or attributes:- A can-do sales attitude - experience and success in consumer product sales is ideal but not essential
- Drive, determination and the ability to focus
- Initiative and pragmatism i.e. a problem solver who's not afraid to get their hands dirty
- An international mindset and an ability to engage with people in other geographies remotely
- Keen to learn about and interested in new technologies and their impact
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Awareness of social media, on-line go to market technologies, Shopify, and using CRM systems
- Excellent communicator in writing and orally
- Able to work in a Google environment (drive, sheets, documents, slides)
- Able to use spreadsheets well
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Current driver's license
This position is open only to candidates currently living in New Zealand. The role will begin fully office-based in Mt Eden, with the option to work from home later on to support international call schedules outside standard NZ office hours once product knowledge has been developed.
