We are a privately owned 48 bed Aged Care Facility comprising Rest Home, Memory Care and Hospital Level Care residents. We are committed to quality care and our Resident First Philosophy is paramount. Based in our brand-new, state-of-the-art facility, you'll oversee the daily operations of the kitchen. Working alongside our Kitchen Assistants, you'll ensure meals are prepared, cooked, and served according to set menus and the nutritional needs of our residents.
Your key responsibilities will include:- Managing food preparation, cooking, and service in line with our quality standards
- Overseeing menu planning, ordering, and stock control
- Ensuring compliance with the Food Control Plan and health and safety standards
- Leading and supporting kitchen staff, including training new team members
- Attending Quality and Improvement Management Team Meetings
- Maintaining a clean, well-organised kitchen environment
This role includes rostered weekend shifts.
Key qualifications and attributes:- Proven leadership experience in a commercial kitchen
- Food Safety Certificates - Unit Standards 167 & 168
- Experience in cooking and coordinating meals for large groups
- Strong organisational and budgeting skills
- Compassionate, approachable, and empathetic nature
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Physically fit and proactive with a positive attitude
- Must hold NZ residency or a current NZ Work Permit
