CHB Earthmovers is seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team. You'll be operating excavators ranging from 10 to 60 tonnes, along with other earthmoving machinery as needed, to deliver top-quality work across a variety of projects throughout the region.
You will need to demonstrate:- Experience working with GPS, final trim and bulk excavation
- Site Foreman experience would be advantageous and remunerated accordingly
- Full NZ driver's licence and WTR endorsement
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices
- A positive attitude, reliability, and enthusiasm for getting the job done right
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:- Operating excavators safely and professionally
- Conducting toolbox meetings along with carrying out daily pre-start and maintenance checks,
- Communicating clearly with other staff and subcontractors to ensure safe site operations and providing direction to the team when required
- Reviewing and following site-specific safety plans (SWMS/SSSP) and all relevant permits including site plans / drawings
- Completing health, safety, and site documentation as required
- From time to time, operating other machinery (dump truck, roller, compactor, water cart, grader, or scraper)
- Maintaining the yard and equipment to a high standard
- Attending safety meetings and training sessions and quality meetings
