Are you an experienced operator of heavy machinery or trucks looking for your next challenge?
CHB Earthmovers is seeking reliable and safety-conscious Machinery Operators to join our team. If you have experience driving dump trucks, rollers, graders, or other heavy equipment, and pride yourself on meticulous machine maintenance - we want to hear from you!
You will need to demonstrate:- Proven experience operating heavy machinery or driving heavy trucks
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Meticulous with machine maintenance and safety checks
- Hold certificates in operating wheels, tracks, and rollers (advantageous)
- Full and current NZ driver's license (WTR endorsement is a bonus but not essential)
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including Monday through Sunday if weather delays require weekend make-up days
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Commitment to health and safety and quality workmanship
You'll be responsible for operating excavators, bulldozers, motor scrapers, rollers, dump trucks, and other machinery as required to safely and efficiently complete projects. This role demands strict adherence to safety protocols, detailed machine maintenance, and excellent communication on-site.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, bulldozers, motor scrapers, rollers, dump trucks, and more
- Conduct daily pre-start and maintenance checks to ensure machines are in top condition
- Follow site SWMS (Safe Work Method Statements), SSSP (Site Specific Safety Plans), and all safety documentation
- Communicate effectively with staff and subcontractors to maintain a safe work environment
- Maintain storage sheds and yard in a clean, orderly manner
- Attend scheduled safety meetings and training sessions
- Complete all required site and safety documentation accurately
