At NZ Structures, we're specialists in structural and civil construction - delivering retaining walls, foundations, timber boardwalks, and engineered solutions that stand the test of time. We work with Tier 1 contractors, councils, and consultants across the Bay of Plenty and Waikato regions.
We're now looking for a Project Engineer to join our close-knit team of 14 at our Mt Maunganui base. If you're motivated, organised, and ready to take ownership of delivery on-site and behind the scenes, this is your chance to step into a high-impact role with a company that backs your development.
We're looking for someone who gets stuck in, takes ownership, and doesn't need to be micromanaged. You'll be as comfortable on site as you are managing documents and coordinating with clients. You care about quality, and you want to work with a team that does the same.
You'll be responsible for:- Overseeing site delivery, quality, and safety
- Managing budgets, timelines, subcontractors, and daily site operations
- Coordinating with engineers, councils, and Tier 1 contractors
- Preparing and maintaining HSQE and project documentation
- Supporting tenders, estimates, and client communications
- Managing multiple projects with a practical, hands-on mindset
To be considered for this position, you'll need to bring:- Experience in civil or structural construction (retaining walls, timber structures, foundations)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret plans, problem-solve and prioritise under pressure
- A positive attitude and a commitment to site safety and quality
- Relevant qualifications or trade background in civil/structural construction
- WTR endorsement and Class 1 NZ Driver's Licence
