About Us:
AB Marine Services Ltd is a well-established and respected Marine Engineering Company, known for delivering exceptional service and expertise across Auckland's marine sector. We are dealers and service repair agents for Yanmar Diesel engines, Honda outboard motors and Hyundai Seasall Diesel engines as well as working on most other marine brands - outboard and inboard.
About the Role:
We're after a fully qualified Marine Mechanic to join our central city workshop. You'll be responsible for diagnostics, maintenance, installations, and repairs on both petrol and diesel marine engines and transmissions. Strong electrical skills are essential, and you must be confident working independently across all types of marine systems.
Key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:- Diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on inboard/outboard engines (petrol & diesel)
- Engine and drive installations, rebuilds, and refits
- Electrical fault-finding, rewiring, and electronics installation (radios, chart plotters, etc.)
- Field service work and routine maintenance
- Maintain high-quality standards and safe work practices
- Communicate effectively with clients and the team
To be considered for this opportunity, you'll need to demonstrate:- Marine engineering qualification + 3-5 years' industry experience
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and to a high standard
- Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork
- Full NZ driver's licence
- Good selection of own tools
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
