About us
Our group has two Bridgestone stores (New Lynn and Wairau Valley), four Toyota sites across North Shore and West Auckland, and one Lexus dealership. Our kind, diverse and talented team of around 170 is what sets us apart. We've proud to have served the wider Auckland community for over 30 years.
About the role
This is an entry level role into the tyre and automotive industry working for both our New Lynn Bridegstone department and our North Western Toyota New Lynn Service department (they're on the same site!).
If you're successful in this role, you'll be trained so that within (approximately) 4 months of starting with us, you'll be able to do tyre technician work mostly unsupervised.
This will include:- Inspecting tyres on vehicles before and after installation on customer vehicles to assess tyre tread levels, wear patterns, valve quality and overall tyre health.
- Working with our customers by asking them questions to understand their needs and use this information to recommend the right tyre for their unique budget, lifestyle, and vehicle.
- Speaking with our customers about the issues they are facing with their current tyres and recommend appropriate repair or replacement work to ensure they are back on the road with minimal stress.
- Performing tyre fittings, rotations, and balancing.
- Changing, repairing, and fitting Bridgestone, and other brand tyres to our customers and internal vehicles.
- Lifting vehicles on jacks and hoists.
- Performing wheel alignments.
- Checking and storing new tyres so they are ready for sale.
- Completing all required paperwork accurately for each job.
- Ordering new tyres to ensure we have the right stock for our customers and to match market trends.
You'll also assist both workshops on site to ensure they are able to run smoothly e.g. delivering vehicles to customers and our other sites; helping with parts deliveries; rearranging the yard; cleaning the workshop, etc.
In return for your hard work, we give you:- Investment in your career! Within the first 4 months you'll be able to do tyre technician work.
- Work perks: car discounts - tyres, servicing, parts, etc, wellbeing and social events throughout the year, competitive pay, long service rewards and a partnership with Boost.
- A leader trained in being a leader - we are so proud of this.
To be considered for this role, you must have excellent driving skills - if you can drive a manual that's a bonus but not a requirement. Otherwise, we'll teach you all the other technical skills you need to know. We're also looking for someone who is:- reliable and punctual
- a good team player and have a warm and positive personality
- well-presented (although not afraid to get your hands dirty when you're at work)
- be available on Saturdays
- hungry to learn about tyres, cars and our industry.
If this sounds like you, then we'd love to hear from you! Please get in touch today with an up to date CV and Cover Letter.
